Basic procedures
ÊInsert the inner parts of the rails that are mounted on the server into the
protruding middle parts until the rails engage (2).
ÊRelease the locking mechanism of both rails (3).
– Left side oft the server: Push upwards
– Right side of the server: Push downwards
ÊLower the lifter platform and slide the server into the rack (4). Remove the
lifter.
VCAUTION
Do not use the front handles to raise the server as they are not designed
to bear the weight of the unit. The front handles are only to be used for
pushing the server into the rack or pulling it out of the rack.
Sliding the Server into the rack
ÊSlide the server into the rack.
ÊFasten the server to the rack with the four knurled screws on the front panel
and the cage nuts, see (5) in figure10.
ÊRoute the cables as described in the Technical manual for the rack in
question.
