11 Optical and backup drives
One optical drive is installed in the RX900 S1. You can choose a DVD or Blu-
Ray SATA drive in 0.5x5.25-inch format.

11.1 Replacing the optical drive

VCAUTION!
●Before installing/removing an accessible drive to/from the server, turn
off the server, all peripheral devices, and any other connected
devices. Also unplug all power cables from the outlet. Failure to do so
can cause electric shock.
●When installing an accessible drive, hold it by the side. Applying force
to the top may cause failures.
●Do not touch the circuitry on boards and soldered parts. Hold the
metallic areas or the edge of the circuit boards.
●The circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed
and can be damaged by static electricity. Before handling them, first
touch a metal part on the server to discharge static electricity from
your body.
●Before installing an internal accessible drive, see the manual for the
accessible drive.
Authorized personnel
Authorized specialist personnel can carry out replacement tasks for
integral server components. Ask you local Fujitsu service center for
more detailed information.
VCAUTION!
Procedures indicated as "Authorized personnel only“ must be
done by Fujitsu service personnel or technicians trained by
Fujitsu for doing these tasks. Please note that unauthorized
interference with the system will void the warranty and exempt the
manufacturer from all liability.
