Steering Position Sensor Input Voltage Inspection

•Measure the input voltage to the steering position sensor.

NOTE

○Be sure the battery is fully charged.

○Connect a digital voltmeter [A] to the lead connector [B] of the steering position sensor using the needle adapter set [C].

Special Tool - Needle Adapter Set: 57001-1457

Connections to Steering Position Sensor Connector

Meter (+) → R/W Terminal

Meter (–) → BK Terminal

○Turn the ignition switch ON.

○Center the handlebar in the straight-ahead position. ○Measure the input voltage.

Steering Position Sensor Input Voltage

Standard: Battery Voltage

○Turn the ignition switch OFF.

If the reading is good, inspect steering position sensor output voltage.

If the reading is out of the standard, check the following. Battery Voltage
