3-80 FUEL SYSTEM (DFI)

Fuel Line

•Prepare a measuring cylinder [A].

•Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel delivery pipe, and set the measuring cylinder and fuel supply hose [B] as shown.

•Close the fuel tank cap.

WARNING

Wipe off spilled out fuel immediately.

Be sure to hold the measuring cylinder vertical.

•Turn the ignition switch ON.

•Push the start button for 3 seconds.

•Measure the discharge for 3 seconds.

Amount of Fuel Flow

Standard: 67 mL or more for 3 seconds

If the fuel flow is much less than the specified, check the following:

Fuel Hose from Fuel Pump Supply Pipe to Fuel Filter for Sharp Bend, Kinking, or Clogging

Fuel Pump Operation (see Fuel Pump Operation Inspec- tion)

Fuel Pump Screen (see Fuel Pump Screen Cleaning) If above inspection checks out good, replace the fuel

pump, and measure the amount of fuel flow again.

•After inspection, connect the fuel hose.

•Start the engine and check for fuel leakage.

○For JT1500-A2 model ∼ ; Replace the double spring clamps with new ones. (see Fuel System Diagram)
