Periodic Maintenance Procedures

○Depending on the atmospheric temperature of your riding area, the engine oil viscosity should be changed accord- ing to the chart shown.

•Install the filler cap.

Torque - Oil Filler Cap: 1.0 N·m (0.10 kgf·m, 8.7 in·lb)

Oil Filter Replace

•Remove:

Seat (see Hull/Engine Hood chapter)

•Drain the engine oil (see Engine Oil Change).

•Place a reg or cloth under the oil filter to receive the re- maining oil.

•Remove the oil filter [A] with the oil filter wrench [B].

Special Tool - Oil Filter Wrench: 57001-1249

•Replace the filter with a new one.

•Apply engine oil to the gasket [A] before installation.

•Tighten the filter with the oil filter wrench.

Torque - Oil Filter: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf·m, 13 ft·lb)

•Pour in the specified type and amount of oil (see Engine Oil Change).
