The following table should be consulted if the obtainable compression reading is not within the us- able range.

Cylinder Head Removal

Remove:

Engine (see Engine Removal/Installation chapter) Cylinder Head Cover (see Cylinder Head Cover Re- moval)

Unscrew the crankshaft sensor cover bolts [A] and re- move the crankshaft sensor cover [B].

Drain the engine oil by one liter.

Turn the crankshaft clockwise and set the crankshaft at #1, 4 piston TDC.

TDC Mark [A] for #1, 4 pistons

Timing Mark [B] (Crankcase halves mating surface)

Remove:Camshaft Chain Tensioner (see Camshaft Chain Ten- sioner Removal)
