1.2 System Unit Block Diagram 1 Hardware Overview

CD Play Controller

•One OZ168 is used.

•The OZ168 allows music CD play while the computer is off.

Sound CODEC

•One AD1981B is used.

•The AD1981B is an AC'97 Audio CODEC LSI, which is compliant with the industry standard "Audio CODEC '97" specification (Revision 2.3).

RS232 Transceiver

•One MAX3243 chip is used.

•The MAX3243 is a serial communication interface with automatic shutdown/wakeup features, high data-rate capabilities, and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

Infrared Transceiver

•One HSDL-3602is used.

•The HSDL-3602 is an infrared transceiver module that provides interface between logic and IR signals for through-air, half-duplex IR data link. The module is compliant to IrDA Physical Layer Specifications 1.1.

Battery E2 PROM: ST24C04FM

•One ST24C04FM equivalent (128 words ⋅ 16-bit, I2C-Interface) is used.

•This memory maintains records of battery use.

Clock Generator

•One ICS950812 is used.

•This device generates the system clock.

Temperature Monitor

•One ADM1032 is used.

•The ADM1032 is an ACPI compliant two channel digital thermometer and under/over temperature alarm.
