1.1 Features

CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive

A full-size, CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive module that lets the user run CD/DVDs without using an adaptor. It reads DVD-ROMs at maximum 8 speed and CD-ROMs at maximum 24 speed. It writes CD-R at up to 8 speed and CD-RW at up to 8 speed. For reading, this drive supports the same formats as the DVD-ROM drive.

DVD Multi Drive

A full-size DVD Multi drive enables DVD-RAM media to be read, written and erased with random access like a diskette. Data can be rewritten hundreds of thousands of times over the life of a disk. The drive also reads all CD and DVD formats.

Display

The computer comes with one of the following displays:

14.1-inch XGA TFT LCD (1024 ⋅ 768 pixels with 16M colors)

15.0-inch XGA TFT LCD (1024 ⋅ 768 pixels with 16M colors)

15.0-inch SXGA+ TFT LCD (1400 ⋅ 1050 pixels with 16M colors)

15.0-inch UXGA TFT LCD (1600 ⋅ 1200 pixels with 16M colors)

A video controller and 32MB of VRAM enables an external monitor with an RGB cable to display 64k colors at a resolution of 1600 ⋅ 1200 pixels.

Keyboard

An easy-to-use 85/86-key keyboard provides a numeric keypad overlay for fast numeric data entry or for cursor and page control. The keyboard also includes two keys that have special functions in Microsoft Windows XP. It supports software that uses a 101- or 102-key enhanced keyboard.

Touch pad

The computer has a touch pad in its palm rest with two control buttons and a wheel. The Touch pad enables control of the on-screen pointer and scrolling of windows.

Accupoint

This pointer control stick, located in the center of the keyboard, provides convenient control of the cursor.
