3-8 Removal and Replacement Procedures
EMI/Cooling Shield
An EMI/cooling shield covers bays 5 and 6 to provide proper cooling and EMI protection. To remove an EMI/cooling shield:
1.Perform the service preparations shown on page
2.Remove the following components:
❏Side access panel
❏Front bezel
3.Remove the two screws that connect the EMI/cooling shield to the drive cage.
4.Remove the EMI/cooling shield from the drive slot.

To replace the EMI/cooling shield, reverse the above procedure.
IMPORTANT: You must replace the shield after a hard drive is installed in the bay.
