6.5.1 Conﬁgure the Basic Server Information

A basic server conﬁguration entry can be created using the Basic Server Conﬁguration window.

Afterthe conﬁguration entry is created, it can be viewed, updated, or deleted through this window.

Fromthe HPSS Health and Status window (shown in Figure 6-1), click on the Admin menu, select

theConﬁgure HPSS option and click on theServers option. The HPSS Servers window will be

displayed as shown in Figure 6-5.

Toconﬁgure a new server, click on the New Server...button on the HPSS Servers window. A blank

Basic Server Conﬁguration window is displayed along with the server-type popup list. Select the

desired type of server and the Basic Server Conﬁguration window will be ﬁlled in as shown in

Figure 6-6 with default values. If the default data is not desired, change the ﬁeld with the desired

value. Click on theAdd button to create the conﬁguration entry.

To update an existing conﬁguration, select the desired server entry on the HPSS Servers window

and click on the Basic... button from theConﬁguration button group. The Basic Server

Conﬁguration window will be displayed with the conﬁgured data. After modifying the

conﬁguration, click on theUpdate button to write the changes to the appropriate SFS ﬁle.

To delete an existing conﬁguration, select the desired server displayed on the HPSS Servers

window and click on theBasic... button from the Conﬁguration button group. The Basic Server

Conﬁguration window will be displayed with the conﬁgured data. Verify that the associated

server- speciﬁc conﬁguration, if exists, is already deleted then click on theDelete button to delete

the basic conﬁguration entry.

Referto the window’s help ﬁle for more information on the individual ﬁelds and buttons as well as

the supported operations available from the window.
