Todelete an existing conﬁguration, select the Log Daemon entry on the HPSS Servers window and

click on theType-speciﬁc... button from the Conﬁguration button group. The Logging Daemon

Conﬁguration window will be displayed with the conﬁgured data. Click on theDelete button to

delete the speciﬁc conﬁguration entry.

Referto the window’s help ﬁle for more information on the individual ﬁelds and buttons as well as

the supported operations available from the window.

6.8.5.1 Log File Archival

TheLog Daemon can be conﬁgured to automatically archive log ﬁles to HPSS. If log ﬁles are to be

archived, the/log directory must be created in the HPSS root directory. The /log directory can be

created by the root user usingftp as follows:

ftp “node” “HPSS Port”

mkdir /log

quote site chown hpss_log /log

quote site chmod 744 /log
