1. Make sure the AMU archive management software is running and the hostname is

resolved,

2. Select an OS/2 window from the Desktop and change the directory to C:\DAS,

C:> cd \das

3. Atthe prompt, type tcpstart and make sure that TCP/IP gets conﬁgured and that the port

mapper program is started,

C:\das> tcpstart

4. Typedasstart to start the DAS server

C:\das> dasstart

Inmost cases, a startup ﬁle like the following can be used to automatically start the DAS processor:

call tcpstart

das\tools\os2sleep 20

CD \AMU

START CON

START KRN

cd \das

tools\os2sleep 20

call dasstart

cd bin

start “DAS/2 AmuClient”

6.8.14 Conﬁgure the Storage Server Speciﬁc Information

The Storage Server speciﬁc conﬁguration entry can be created using the Storage Server

Conﬁguration window. After the conﬁguration entry is created, it can be viewed, updated, or

deleted through the same window.

Fromthe HPSS Health and Status window (shown in Figure 6-1), click on the Admin menu, select

theConﬁgure HPSS option and click on theServers option. The HPSS Servers window will be

displayed as shown in Figure 6-5.

Toadd a new speciﬁc conﬁguration, select the Storage Server entry and click on the Type-speciﬁc...

button from theConﬁguration button group on the HPSS Servers window. The Storage Server

Conﬁguration window will be displayed with default values (Figure 6-40 and Figure 6-41 shown

the screen image of the Disk and Tape Storage Server conﬁguration window, respectively). If the
