TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIR

CHOPPER MODULE CAPACITOR DISCHARGE PROCEDURE

WARNING

Service and repair should be performed by only Lincoln Electric factory trained personnel. TEST DESCRIPTION

This procedure will insure that the large capacitors in the chopper module have been dis- charged. This procedure should be performed whenever work is to be attempted on or near the chopper module.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Miscellaneous hand tools

Volt/Ohmmeter

Resistor (25-1000 ohms and 25 watts minimum)

Lincoln part #S01404-114 works well for this purpose

Jumper leads
