Using the Command Line Interface

speed-duplex

This command configures the speed and duplex mode of a given interface when autonegotiation is disabled. Use the no form to restore the default.

Syntax

speed-duplex <auto 10MH 10MF 100MF 100MH>

auto - autonegotiate speed and duplex mode

10MH - Forces 10 Mbps, half-duplex operation

10MF - Forces 10 Mbps, full-duplex operation

100MH - Forces 100 Mbps, half-duplex operation

100MF - Forces 100 Mbps, full-duplex operation

Default Setting

Auto-negotiation is enabled by default.

Command Usage

If autonegotiation is disabled, the speed and duplex mode must be configured to match the setting of the attached device.

Example

The following example configures the Ethernet port to 100 Mbps, full-duplex operation.

Outdoor 11a Building to Building(if-ethernet)#speed-duplex 100mf Outdoor 11a Building to Building(if-ethernet)#

shutdown

This command disables the Ethernet interface. To restart a disabled interface, use the no form.
