1-12 Freescale Semiconductor
1.4 Differences between MPC860 and PowerQUICC II
The following MPC860 features are not included in the PowerQUICC II.
On-chip crystal oscillators (must use external oscillator)
4-MHz oscillator (input clock must be at the bus speed)
Low power (stand-by) modes
Battery-backup real-time clock (must use external battery-backup clock)
BDM (COP offers most of the same functionality)
True little-endian mode
PCMCIA interface
Infrared (IR) port
QMC protocol in SCC (256 HDLC channels are supported by the MCCs)
Multiply and accumulate (MAC) block in the CPM
Centronics port (PIP)
Pulse-width modulated outputs
SCC Ethernet controller option to sample 1 byte from the parallel port when a receive frame is
complete
Parallel CAM interface for SCC (Ethernet)
