Secure Mode

Secure mode secures the system against unauthorized use. Secure mode inhibits keyboard and mouse input, and disables the power switch and reset button. Secure mode takes effect when the keyboard and mouse remain inactive for an amount of time that you determine. You can gain access to the system only after you enter the correct user password.

Note: You must set a user password before you can enable secure mode.

Hot Key Option

Specifies a set of keyboard commands that will place the

 

system immediately into secure mode.

 

 

Lockout Timer

Specifies a keyboard and mouse inactivity time-out period

 

of 1 to 128 minutes (in one minute increments). If the timer

 

is enabled, and no keyboard or mouse activity occurs for

 

the specified period, keyboard and mouse input is

 

inhibited.

 

 

Secure Boot

When this option is enabled, it disables the keyboard and

Video Blanking

Specifies whether secure mode will cause the monitor to

 

blank out.

 

 

Floppy Writes

Specifies whether writing to a diskette is enabled or

 

disabled when the system is in secure mode.
