Verify communications

You can check communications for correct operation by performing the verification procedure.

Communications test descriptions

When you select the Hardware Service Manager Verify option (see “Hardware Service Manager — Verify” on page 95 for details) or run VFYCMN (see “Verify communications” on page 308) on communications, you can test the correct operation of the following hardware:

vCommunications I/O adapter card

vCommunications cable

vLocal or remote modem

vExternal token ring

You can get additional problem analysis information by running more than one test.
