Assigning SNMP Community Names and Access Levels

he FrameSaver unit supports the SNMP protocol and can be managed by an SNMP manager. SNMP manager access can be limited by:

Assigning the SNMP community names that are allowed to access the

TFrameSaver unit’s Management Information Base (MIB).

Specifying the type of access allowed for each SNMP community name.

Whenever an SNMP manager attempts to access an object in the MIB, the community name must be supplied.

Procedure

To assign SNMP community names and access types:

1. Select the General SNMP Management options.

2. Set the following configuration options, as appropriate.

Assign SNMP community

Community Name 1 and Community Name 2 to a

community name text, up to 255 characters in length.

 

 

Assign the type of access

Name 1 Access and Name 2 Access to Read or

allowed for the SNMP

Read/Write.
