Making a partial settings
M-106
MV-8800 Owner’s Manual
This function automatically sets the Start Point, Loop Point, and End Points of the sample to a point at which
the waveform is at an amplitude of 0 (zero); i.e., a “zero-cross point.”
This will minimize the noise that occurs when the amplitude “jumps” discontinuously when the sample is
played.
1.

Access the SAMPLE EDIT screen as describe“Making a sample settings” (p. 105).

2.
Press [MENU].
The MENU popup will appear.
3.

Select “Snap To Zero Crossing” and press [F5](Select).

A zero-cross point will be assigned automatically for each point of the sample.
The direction in which a zero-cross point is searched will depend on the point.
You can combine up to 4 samples to create the partial and use velocity to switch between them, this function
is called SMT (Sample Mix Table).

Finding a zero-cross point
Point Direction of searching for a zero-cross point
Start Point Search from the current Start Point toward the beginning.
Loop Point Search from the current Loop Point toward the beginning.
However, if the Loop Mode parameter is set to Reverse or RevOneShot, this will search from
the current Loop Point toward the end. If the Reverse parameter is turned On in the AUDIO
PHRASE EDIT screen (Screen Guide; p. 155), AUDIO PHARASE SAMPLE EDIT screen
(Screen Guide; p. 157), or AUDIO EVENT SAMPLE EDIT popup (Screen Guide; p. 29), this
will search from the current Loop Point toward the end.
End Point Search from the current End Point toward the end.
If no zero-cross point is found, the points of the sample will not be changed.
The zero-cross point can also be edited in the following screens.
