Here’s how to save your project to a CD-R/RW disc.This lets you preserve important data, or use a project on
a different MV-8800.
1.
Insert a blank CD-R/RW disc as described in “Inserting a disc” (p. 31).
2.
Press [PROJECT].
The PROJECT MENU screen (Screen Guide; p. 162) will appear.
3.
With the cursor located in the lower row of icons, press [F4](Backup). Alternatively, select
the BACKUP TO CD icon and press [ENTER].
The BACKUP PROJECT TO CD screen (Screen Guide; p. 170) will appear.
4.
Move the cursor to the project that you want to backup, and press [F5](Execute).
Starts backup to CD-R/RW disc. When the project has been backed up, the CD-R/RW disc will be ejected.
Here’s how a project that was backed-up to a CD-R/RW can be restored to the hard disk.
1.
Insert the CD-R/RW disc on which you backed up the project.
2.
Press [PROJECT].
The PROJECT MENU screen (Screen Guide; p. 162) will appear.
3.
With the cursor located in the lower row of icons, press [F5](Recover). Alternatively, select
the RECOVER FROM CD icon and press [ENTER].
The RECOVER PROJECT FROM CD popup (Screen Guide; p. 171) will appear. Displays a project name on
CD-R/RW disc
4.
Specifies the “New Project on Hard disk” parameter for the recovered project you want to
recover.
By default, the project will be recovered with the name that is stored on the CD-R/RW disc. If you want to
recover the project as a different name, change the name.
5.
Press [F5](Execute).
Recovery will begin. When the project has been recovered, it will be saved on the hard disk, and the CD-R/RW
disc will be ejected.
Backing up a project to a CD-R/RW disc
When backing-up, you must use one CD-R/RW disc for each project. You cannot back up more than one project
at a time.
If the message “Insert blank CD-R/RW” appears, no disc is inserted in the CD-R/RW drive. Place a writable
blank CD-R/RW disc in the tray and close the tray, then press [F5](Execute).
If you inserted a non-blank CD-RW, the message “Erase CD-RW” will appear. If you want to erase the contents
of the CD-RW disc and then backup the project, press one of the following.
[F3] (Yes(Quick))... Quick erase, and then back up, [F5] (Yes(Full))... Full erase, and then back up
Restoring a project
If the message “Insert disc with Project data.” or “Disk not ready.” appear, no disc is inserted in the CD-R/RW
drive. Place a CD-R/RW disc that contains the project data in the tray and close the tray, then press [F5](Execute).
