Using the MV-8800 to operate an external V-LINK device (V-LINK Master)

Connections with the Edirol PR-50

Connect the MV-8800’s MIDI OUT connector via an Edirol UM-1EX etc. to the Edirol PR-50’s REMOTE connector.

Connections with the Edirol MD-P1

Use a MIDI cable to connect the MV-8800’s MIDI OUT connector to the Edirol MD-P1’s MIDI IN connector.

Press [V-LINK].

[V-LINK] will light blue, and the V-LINK function will be turned On (i.e., V-LINK will be available). You can
operate the MV-8800’s pads to control the images in synchronization with your performance on the MV-8800.

Press [V-LINK] once again.

[V-LINK] will go dark, and the V-LINK function will be turned Off (normal operating mode).

Press [SYSTEM].

The SYSTEM MENU screen (Screen Guide; p. 172) will appear.

With the cursor located in the upper row of icons, press [F4](V-Link). Alternatively, select
the V-LINK icon and press [ENTER].

The V-LINK screen (Screen Guide; p. 179) will appear.

Example connections

Before you make connections, you must turn down the volume of all devices and turn off the power to avoid
malfunctions or speaker damage.

Switching V-LINK on/off

When you press [V-LINK] on the MV-8800, it will operate as the “V-LINK master” which controls an external
V-LINK device.
