Direct Recording is a function that directly records an audio source from the analog inputs. This lets you record
in the same way as on a multi-track recorder.
1.
Press [SYSTEM].
The SYSTEM MENU screen (Screen Guide; p. 172) will appear.
2.
Select the GLOBAL icon, and press [ENTER].
The GLOBAL screen (Screen Guide; p. 173) will appear.
3.
Set Input Select parameter to specify the input source you want to record.
4.
Access the SONG screen (Screen Guide; p. 8) or the PATTERN screen (Screen Guide; p. 91).
5.
Use CURSOR [ ] [ ] to select the audio track that you want to record.
Selected track is highlighted (that means current track). Recording occurs on the current track.
6.
Press [REC ( )].
The REC indicator will blink, and the RECORDING PARAMETER (AUDIO) popup (Screen Guide; p. 19) will
appear.
7.
Set the realtime-recording parameters.
Move the cursor to each parameter, and use the VALUE dial or [DEC] [INC] to set the value.
• Rec Mode (Recording mode)
Set to Direct Rec.
• Sample Type
Specifies the number of channels that will be recorded.
• Count In
Specifies how recording will begin.
8.
Press [PLAY ( )].
The REC and PLAY indicators will light, and the input audio will be recorded.

Direct Rec
Record audio directly from the input to the track.
Resample MIX Resample MIX: Re-record the playback of a song or pattern onto an audio track as an audio event.
Event Record the playback timing of audio phrases triggered from the velocity pads.

Recording will begin the moment you press [PLAY ( )].

location, and recording will begin at the record-start location.
Wait Note Recording will begin the moment you strike VELOCITY PADS, press [PLAY ( )] or receive MIDI
note messages.
