With the cursor located in the upper row of icons, press [F2](Pad/Panel). Alternatively,
select the PAD/PANEL icon and press [ENTER].
The PAD screen (Screen Guide; p. 174) will appear.
Pad Sens
Specifies the sensitivity of the velocity pads.
Pad Trigger Threshold
The velocity pads will respond only when struck more strongly than the value you specify here.
Fixed Velocity Level
Specifies the velocity level at which the pads will be fixed if the [FIXED VELOCITY] is turned on.
Pad Aftertouch Type
Specifies the type of aftertouch that will be transmitted when you apply pressure to the velocity pads.
Pad Aftertouch Sens
Specifies the sensitivity for the aftertouch that is transmitted when you apply pressure to the velocity pads.
Pad Roll Interval
Specifies the spacing of the roll when you use the pads to play a roll.
Adjusting the sensitivity of the velocity pads
By adjusting the Pad Sens value, you can change the relationship between the strength at which you strike
the velocity pads and the volume that is produced.
Minimizing double triggering from the velocity pads
In some cases, striking a pad may cause a pad you didn’t strike to sound as well.
This is because depending on the location or force of your strike, the vibration may also affect another pad.
You can reduce such problems by adjusting the Pad Trigger Threshold parameter.
Performing with aftertouch
Use the Pad Aftertouch Type parameter to specify whether channel aftertouch or polyphonic aftertouch will be
transmitted when you apply pressure to the velocity pads. Use the Pad Aftertouch Sens parameter to adjust
the aftertouch sensitivity. If you turn the Pad Aftertouch Sens parameter Off, aftertouch will not be transmitted.
For details on all parameters, refer to “PAD screen” (Screen Guide; p. 174).
