To create a patch by dividing an audio phrase (Chop)
1.
Access the AUDIO PHRASE EDIT screen as described in “Editing the settings of an audio
phrase” (p. 111).
The AUDIO PHRASE EDIT screen (Screen Guide; p. 155) will appear.
2.
Press [F4](Chop).
The CHOP popup (Screen Guide; p. 159) will appear.
3.
Specify the Current Point and press [F1](Add Point).
The phrase will be divided at the Current Point you specify. Each dividing point is assigned a point number,
and stores the time location you assign. If you want to assign additional dividing points, repeat step 3.
4.
Press [F5](Asgn ToPatch).
The audio phrase will be divided at the time location(s) you specified. The CHOP QUICK ASSIGN popup
(Screen Guide; p. 161) will appear.
5.
Specify the destination to which the divided waveforms will be assigned.
Use the Part parameter to specify the number of the part to which you want to assign the partial that is newly
created from the divided waveforms, and use the Assign To parameter to specify the velocity pad number.
6.
Press [F5](Execute).
The partials will be successively assigned to the velocity pads of the specified part, starting with the velocity
pad number you specified.
You can assign up to 95 (ninety five) points (i.e., divide the audio phrase into 96 (ninety six) pieces).
If you want the dividing points to be determined automatically according to certain conditions, press [F3](Auto
Chop). The AUTO CHOP popup will appear. For details on the parameters (conditions) you can set, refer to
“AUTO CHOP popup” (Screen Guide; p. 160).
A partial will be created for each newly divided waveform, and assigned to the patch.
