Here’s how to save the current pattern as SMF(Standard MIDI file) format 1.
1.
Access the PATTERN LIST screen as described in “Selecting a pattern” (p. 168).
2.
Use CURSOR [ ] [ ] to select the pattern to save as SMF.
3.
Press [MENU].
The MENU popup will appear.
4.
Sselect “Save As SMF...” and press [F5] (Select).
The SAVE PATTERN AS SMF popup will appear.

If you want the saved SMF data to reflect the Play Quantize settings of each MIDI track in the pattern, press
[F2](Fix Qtz) to turn the Fix Quantize indication On. If this is On when you save the SMF, the rhythmic feel you
hear when you play the pattern on the MV-8800 will be saved in SMF format.
5.
Use CURSOR [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] to select a folder you want to save.
The folder will be highlighted.
6.
Press [F5](Save).
The EDIT FILE NAME popup (Screen Guide; p. 3) will appear.
7.
Specify the name of file you want to save.
The file name will be the name you assigned plus an extension of “.MID”.
8.
Press [F5](Execute).
The pattern will be saved as an SMF file on the hard disk.
