Adjustment Instructions

Reference Clock Frequency

This procedure adjusts Y5200 on the A50 AWG board to set the AWG710 Arbitrary Waveform Generator clock frequency.

Equipment

One frequency counter ￿Item 2￿

Required

One 50 W coaxial cable ￿Item 3￿

 

 

 

Do the following steps to connect the test equipment and set the test equipment controls:

1.Use a 50 W BNC coaxial cable to connect the waveform generator 10 MHz REF OUT connector to the input A connector on the frequency counter.

2.Set the frequency counter controls as follows:

3.Set the waveform generator controls as follows: Press UTILITY ￿ System ￿ Factory Reset ￿ OK.

4.Follow the substeps below to load the waveform:

a.Press Service ￿ Tweak AWG2 (pop-up)￿ OK.

b.Press Clock Ref. DAC

5.Turn the general purpose knob to adjust the oscillator so that the frequency counter reading is in the range of 10.0 MHz ±2 Hz (0.2 ppm).

6.Press Save to save the setting.

7.Disconnect the frequency counter.
