Resolving the Cover Open Error Message

Resolving the Cover Open Error Message

Symptom: The Printer errors immediately after sending a print job or the rollers do not operate by pressing the cottons on the front panel (when the cover is open).

Step Procedure

1Reseat the Cover Switch.

a.Open the top cover and remove the Print Ribbon.

b.Remove the two screws from the Cover Switch located near the ribbon take up hub.

c.Reseat the switch on the Printer side plate and carefully replace the screws.

d.Ensure that the screws holding the Cover Sensor in place are not so tight as to compress the inner components of the switch. (Note: The screws should be tight enough to hold the switch in place snugly.)
