4 - 16COMMAND REFERENCE

*CLS	Clear Status
Syntax:	*CLS

Description:

The *CLS command clears the following status data structures:

1.Clears all Event Status Registers, such as the following:

-Standard Event Status Register (*ESR?)

-Status Byte Register (*STB?)

-Operation Event Status register (STATus:OPERation:EVENt)

-Questionable Event Status Register (STATus:QUEStionable:EVENt)

2.Clears the Error/Event Queue.

3.Cancels the effect of the *OPC command and the *OPC? query; any request for the OPC flag is cancelled.

Note: When the *CLS command is entered as the first command in a new pro- gram message, it also clears the Output Queue and as a consequence, the MAV-bit in the Status Byte Register.

Example:
Send → *CLS	Clears the status data.
