FRU

Action

1

Interlock

Check the interlock switch actuator hardware for

Switch

proper operation making sure of the following:

Mechanism

Actuator 1 activates door switch S2.

• There is +5 V dc to interlock switches S3 and S4.

If the mechanism does not operate properly or

activate any of the switches, repair as necessary.

2

Interlock

Switch S2 has two functions. Two terminals control

Switch S2

+24 V dc to the engine board and four terminals

control AC line voltage to the fuser lamps. Terminal

A1, B1, A2 and B2 control AC line voltage to the

fuser lamps. When this circuit opens, a 922 service

error displays.

CAUTION: Be careful when checking the voltages

on switch S2, as AC line voltage may be present on

terminals A1 (brown) B1 (yellow), A2 (brown) or B2

(yellow).

Check the voltage between terminals A1 (brown)

and B1 (yellow). The voltage should read the same

as the AC line voltage.

Note: The lamp voltage varies as the fuser lamp

turns on and off, or when power saver is selected.

If incorrect, go to the “Printhead Service Check”

on page 2-77.

If correct, check, the voltage across terminals A2

(brown) and B2 (yellow). The voltage should read

the same as the AC line voltage.

• If incorrect, check the switch for continuity and

proper operation.

• If correct, disconnect the power cord and check

continuity between switch terminals A2 and B2.

• If incorrect go to the “Fuser Cold Service

Check” on page 2-51.
