Trap #1 IP Address*

Number one of four trap IP addresses. Successive trap IP address fields are

 

 

numbered 2, 3, and 4. Each trap address has an associated community

 

 

string (see Community String).

0.0.0.0 (no IP address assigned)

 

 

Range:

Four-octet dotted-decimal notation, where each octet is

 

 

 

represented as a decimal value, separated by a decimal

The community string associated with one of the four trap IP addresses (see

Authentication Trap

Determines whether a trap will be sent when there is an SNMP

Determines whether Link Up or Link Down traps will be sent from the switch.

*The Trap IP Address and Community String fields can be set using a MIB table (in a Bay Networks proprietary MIB). The status of the row in the MIB table can be set to Ignore. If the row status is set to Ignore, the fields appear to be set when viewed from the console terminal; however, no traps will be sent to that address until the row status is set to Valid.
