This event is also recorded in the SNC 5100 event log along with the name of a file that was saved to the flash file system. The file contains information about the state of the Fibre Channel interface prior to the reset.

Follow these steps to retrieve the file.

Step 1. Connect the service terminal to the Service Port.

For more information, see “Connecting to the Service Port” on page 95.

Step 2. Press the Enter key on the service terminal.

If the prompt is not displayed, go to “Service Port MAP” on page 75.

Step 3. From the service terminal, navigate to the “DUMP” directory by entering the cd /ffs/dumpcommand.

Step 4. From the service terminal, enter the ls command to get a file listing for the directory.

There may be more than one file present if the error condition has occurred more than once.

Caution

Dump file names end in .dmp and the files are automatically deleted whenever you update the SNC 5100’s firmware.

Step 5. Refer to the section “Saving a Configuration File” on page 99.

Substitute the name of the dump file and use that procedure to save the file to the service terminal.

Repeat this step if there is more than one file.

Save each file to the service terminal.

Step 6. Send the file to support@adic.com for analysis, attaching the dump file to the message.
