CAUTION: Baldor does not recommend us ing “Grounded Leg Delta” transformer pow er leads
thatmay cr eate earth/ground loops and degrade system performance. Instead,w e
recommendus ing a four wire Wye.
CAUTION: Drives are intended to be connected to a permanent main power sourc e, nota
portablepower source.Suitable fusing and circuit protection devices are required.
CAUTION: The safe integration of the drive into a machine system is the responsibility of the
machinedesigner. Besureto comply with t he local safety requirements at the plac e
wherethe mac hine is to be used. In Europe these are the Machinery Direct ive, the
ElectroMagneticCompat ibility Directive and the Low Voltage Directive. In the United
Statesthis is t he National Electrical code and local codes.
CAUTION: Drives must be installed inside an elec trical cabinet that provides environmental
control and protection. Installation information for the drive is provided in this
manual. Motors and controlling devices that connect to the dr ive should have
specifications compatible to the drive.
CAUTION: Failure to meet cooling air flow requirements w ill result in reduced product lifetime
and/ordriv e overtemperature trips.
CAUTION: Violent jamming (stopping) of the motor during operation may damage the motor and
drive.
CAUTION: Operating the MicroFlex e100 in Torquemode wit hno load attached to the motor can
cause the motor to accelerate rapidly to excessiv e speed.
CAUTION: If the drive enable signal is already pr esent when power is applied to the
MicroFlex e100, the motor could begin to move immediately.
CAUTION: Do not tin (solder) exposed wires . Soldercontractsov er time andmay causeloose
connections. Use crimp connections where poss ible.
CAUTION: Electrical components canbe damaged by staticelectric ity. UseESD (electrostatic
discharge) procedures when handling this drive.
CAUTION: Ensure that encoder wires are proper ly connected. Incorrect installation may result
inimproper mov ement.
CAUTION: The threaded holes in the top and bottomof the case are for cableclamps. The holes
are11.5 mm deep and accept M4 screws ,whic h must be screwed in to a depth of
atleast 8mm.
CAUTION: Removing the cover will invalidate UL c ertification.
CAUTION: The metal heatsink on the left side of the MicroFlex e100 can become very hot
duringnormal operation.
