7.2.4 Communication
StatusLED is off:
HCheck that the 24VDC control circuit supply is c onnected correctly to connector X2 and is
switched on.
ETHERNET LEDs blinking green and red simultaneously:
HDoesthe Micr oFlex e100 have firmware in it? If you tried to download new firmwareand t he
downloadfailed, the c ontroller may not have firmware. Download new firmware.
MintWorkBen ch fails to detect the MicroFlex e100:
HEnsure that the MicroFlex e100 is powered and the Status LED is illuminated (see section
7.2.1).
HCheck that the Ethernet or USB cable is connected between the PC andMic roFlex e100.
HTryan alternativ e cable or different port on the PC.
HInthe “Search up to Nodexx“ opt ionin Mint WorkB ench’s Select Controller dialog, check that
theMicroFlex e100’snode ID is not higher than the selected value, or sear ch up to agreater
nodeID.
HForUSB connect ions, check that the cable is properly connected. Chec kt heU SBc onnector
socket pins for damage or sticking. Check that the USB dev ice driver has been installed; a
‘USBMotion C ontroller’ device should be listed in Windows Device Manager.
HCheck that the PC’s Ethernet port has been correctly c onfigured for TCP/IP operation (see
section6.2.4).
7.2.5 Power on
TheStatus LED is flashing red:
HTheMicroFlex e100 has det ected a motion error. Click the Error button onthe motion toolbar
toview a descriptionof the error. Alter natively, select the Error Log tool toview a list of error s.
Click the ClearErrors button on the motion t oolbar.
7.2.6 Mint WorkBen ch
TheSpy window does not update:
HThe systemrefresh has been disabled. Go to the Tools, Options menu item, select the
System tab and then choose a System Refresh Rate (500ms is recommended).
Cannotcommunicate with the controller after downloading fir mware:
HAfter firmware download, always power cycle the MicroFlexe100 (remove 24V power and
thenrec onnect).
MintWorkBench loses contact with MicroFlex e100 w hile connected using USB:
HCheck that theMic roFlex e100 is powered.
HCheck that a ‘USB Motion Controller’ device is listed in Windows Device Manager. If not,
therecould be a pr oblem with the PC’s USB interface.
