C.1 Outline
This section provides general information
regarding recommended methods of installation
for CE compliance. It is not intended as an
exhaustive guide to good practice and wiring
techniques. It is assumed that the installer of the
MicroFlex e100 is sufficiently qualified to perform
the task, and is aware of local regulations and
requirements. Baldor products that meet the EMC
directive requirements are indicated with a “CE”
mark. A duly signed CE declaration of conformity
isav ailable from Baldor.

C.1.1 EMC Confo rmity and CE marking

The information contained herein is for your guidance only and does not guarantee t hat the

Thepurpose of the EEC dir ectives is to state a minimum technical requirement c ommonto all the

intendedto enhance the lev els of safety both directly and indirectly.
Councildirec tive 89/336/EEC relating to Electro Magnetic Compliance(EMC ) indicates that it is
the responsibility of the system integratorto ensure that the entire systemcomplies with all
relativedir ectives at the time of installing into service.
Motors and controls are used as components of a system, per the EMC directive. Hence all
components, installation of the components, interconnec tion between components, and
shieldingand grounding of t he systemas a whole determinesEMC compliance.
TheCE mark informs the purchaser that the equipment has been tested and complies with the
appropriatestandards . It rests upon the manufac turer or his authorized repres entative to ensure
theitem in questi on complies fully with all the relative directives in force at the time of inst alling
intoservice, inthe same way as the system integratorpreviouslymentioned. Remember that it
isthe ins tructions of installation and the product that should comply w ith the directive.
