Configuring Smart Client User Settings

This section describes procedures to register user(s) of Smart Client and configure the rights of each user.

Adding a User

The following is the procedure to configure the settings with the [Configure User Access...] wizard. You may also configure the settings from [Users] in [Advanced Configuration].

1 Click [Configure User Access...]

2 Click [Next]

3 Configure server access settings

Item	Description
Server name	For specifying the name to identify this unit
	in the network.
Local port	For specifying the port number to use for
	the server.
Character	Make sure to set to [Western European
encode	(ISO) (iso-8859-1)].
(language)
Enable	Select this check box when connecting a
internet	surveillance computer to the unit through
access	the internet.
	When selected, specify the global IP
	address of the router or firewall in the
	internet access field, and the port number
	for access of the surveillance computer in
	the internet port field.

4 Click [Next]

The user type (basic user or Windows user) setting screen appears.

Set the standard user which uses the viewer (Smart Client).

5 Enter the user name and password and click [Add Basic User]

The user is registered as a new user.
