6.Test dc voltage across the 2 IC (integrated circuit) identification dimples on carriage flex driver cable using a DVM (digital multimeter). In the DC scale verify that the voltage is jumping from 0 to +5Vdc. If the voltage is fairly steady at +5V then the respective carriage PWA is defective.

7.Replace both Trailing Cables.

8.Replace the Main PWA.

9.Refer to ‘Cartridge Warranty’.

Paper Sensor Error

The paper sensor error typically happens when a break in continuity occurs in the flexible printed circuit (FPC) line at the paper sensor assembly. The paper sensor assembly is the most fragile of the electronic components in the printer, exercise caution when installing or the assem- bly may break.
