7SCMS (Serial Copy Management System)

SCMS is the function for preventing disorderly copying by add- ing copy inhibit information to the digital signals.

This system is basically intended to allow only one digital copy operation from the original source (CD, etc.).

7Checking the recording permission/inhibition con- dition

1 Turn the INPUT SELECTOR knob.

÷Refer to page 42.

÷You can also check for permission by pressing the RECORD () button.

2 Play the source player.

÷“CAN NOT” and “COPY” are displayed if the copy inhibit signal is detected in the source being played back.

In case a copy inhibit signal is detected during recording

Recording pauses and “CAN NOT” and “COPY” are displayed when the copy inhibit signal is detected in the digital signal be- ing recorded. Recording is continued if copying is permitted again.

7Contrôle de la permission ou de l’interdiction de copie

1 Tournez le bouton INPUT SELECTOR.

÷Consultez la page 42.

÷Vous pouvez également contrôler la permission en appuyant sur la touche RECORD ().

2 Commandez la lecture sur l’appareil source.

÷Les indications “CAN NOT” et “COPY” s’affichent si le code d’interdiction de copie est fourni par la source.

Si un code d’interdiction de copie est détecté au cours de l’enregistrement

L’enregistrement s’interrompt et les indications “CAN NOT” et “COPY” s’affichent au moment où le signal d’interdiction de copie est détecté au sein du signal numérique. L’enregistre- ment reprend dès que le signal d’interdiction de copie disparaît.
