“TOC” “READ”	The unit is reading the TOC of the disc. Please wait a while.
1-SYNC	The unit is standing by for 1-track automatic digital recording. The recording will	p. 44

AL-SYNC	The unit is standing by for all-track automatic digital recording. The recording will	p. 48

	INPUT selector is set for an analog source, or even in digital mode, if the source
	selected is other than a CD, Mini Disc, DAT, or DCC.
MONI	The unit is monitoring the input selected with the input selector.	p. 42

“ERASE?”	If you want to erase the last track, press the pause (8) button.
“ALL”, “TRACK”,	Erases all tracks.	p. 80
“ERASE?”	If you want to erase the all tracks, press the pause (8) button.
“ALL”, “DISC”,	Erases the entire disc (initializing it).	p. 82

“PIONEER”	The current operation is the store-front demonstration.	p. 109
“CD-R” ····	The demonstration stops when any key or control is operated.
	If no key or control has been pressed for about 3 minutes after the
	demonstration was stopped, it will start again.
	The demonstration mode can be initiated by pressing the 4 1button when
	the display goes on and the disc is read after turning on the power before timer
	play starts. (When no disc is provided, press the 4 1 button immediately
	after “00 00:00” has appeared on the display.)
	To cancel the demonstration mode, press the ¡¢button when the display
	goes on and the disc is read after turning on the power before timer play starts.
	(When no disc is provided, press the ¡¢button immediately after "00 00:00"
	has appeared on the display.)

In addition to above, other character messages are also displayed as the unit detects troubles during use. For other character messages than above, refer to “Self-diagnostics” on page 108.
