Loading staples

Load staples if the printer control panel display prompts you with a STAPLER LOW ON STAPLES message (the staple cartridge contains fewer than 70 staples) or a STAPLER OUT OF STAPLES message (the staple cartridge contains 15 or fewer staples). For more information see “Staple level detection” on page 116. Once the stapler runs out of staples, jobs may continue to print to the stapler/stacker (if STAPLES OUT = CONTINUE), but they will not be stapled. For more information see “Stapler/stacker submenu” on page 51.

To load staples

1.Turn the stapler unit on the right side of the stapler/stacker toward the front of the printer until the unit clicks into the open position. Grasp the blue staple-cartridge handle and pull the cartridge out of the stapler unit.

2.Insert the new staple cartridge into the stapler unit and rotate the stapler unit toward the rear of the printer until the unit snaps into place.
