Wireless Personal Area Networking
“Bluetooth” is the name given to a technology standard using short-range
radio links, intended to replace the cables connecting portable and fixed
electronic devices. The standarddefines a uniform structure for a wide
range of devices to communicate with each other, with minimal user e f-
fort. Itskey features are robustness, low complexity,low power, and low
cost. The technology also offers wireless access to LANs, the mobile phone
network, andthe internet for a host of home appliances and portable
hand-held interfaces.

er Library (IDL), which is available as a download from the Intermec web

About the Application

Bluetooth is not started automatically by default after a cold-boot is per-
formed. Torun Bluetooth, tap Start >Settings >theConnectionstab >
the Bluetoothic on. The 700 Color Computer retains the Bluetooth state
when warm-bootsare performed, for example:
SIf Bluetooth is active, and a warm-bootwas performed, the 700 Color
Computer boots up with the Bluetooth state activ ated and Bluetooth
virtual COM ports(such as printing) registered. However, you must
reactivate connections, as the system does not do these automatically.
SIf Bluetooth is inactive, and a warm-bootwas performed, the 700 Color
Computer bootsup with Bluetooth deactivated.
