A high alert is triggered (i.e. becomes an active alert) once an input signal has risen above the High Alert Set Point and the Set Delay time has elapsed. If the Set Delay is set to zero, then the alert is immediately triggered once the input signal rises above the High Alert Set Point. The Set Delay is used to reduce false or spurious alerts. As an example, setting the Set Delay to 5 seconds will eliminate any temporary transitions of the input signal above the High Alert Set Point lasting less than 5 seconds from triggering an alert. Once the alert is triggered, it becomes an active alert. An alert remains active until
•The input signals falls below the High Alert Clear Point and the Clear Delay time has elapsed. If the Clear Delay is set to zero, then the alert immediately transitions to the Awaiting Cancel once the input signal falls below the High Alert Clear Point (as shown in the example above).
•The user accepts the alert in which case it transitions into the Accepted state.
The Clear Delay is used to reduce false or spurious alerts.
