8.6Setting the Vessel Operating Mode
The Vessel Operating Mode must be set on each DSM250. This is a potentially risky operation, in that Alerts that are Active in the existing mode may be ignored in the new Operating Mode. The DSM250 will warn the operator about these Alerts to minimize the risk. However, if the new vessel status was transmitted to other Alert Sources that are unmanned, then the warnings would be lost. For this reason, the Vessel Operating mode must be changed at each DSM250 or N2Kview, and those alerts, which would be disabled, noted by the user.
The Vessel Operating Mode is set through the Alert Setup Screen. Scroll Down to the required Operating Mode entry, press Enter and then use the Scroll Up / Scroll Down buttons to select the new Mode. Press Enter to complete the operation.

8.7Advanced Configuration
The Advanced Parameters of the Alert System may be configured through this Screen. Enter the screen though the Alert Setup menu, and select the Advanced Configuration option.
