ip dhcp gen-optiontag data { data_of_the_correct_format_given_data-type }

This command allows you to specify the gen-optiondata.

If the data-typeis ascii, then any printable character

If the data-typeis hex, then an even number of hex characters (e.g. “0123456789AbcdEf”

If the data-typeis dotted-decimal, then a series of numbers between 0 and 255, separated by a period (.). IP addresses are generally represented in this form.

ip dhcp gen-option tag priority { low high } show ip dhcp gen-option tag priority { low high } no ip dhcp gen-option tag

These commands allow you to set, display, or disable whether the default handling behavior for a particular option should be overridden by the specified gen-option. For most options this is irrelevant, but at least the following options are handled in the router outside the context of gen-options:

Note: In most cases overriding the CPE default behavior is not recommended. Also, if the CPE can, but does not, serve an option in the above list, corresponding low-priority gen-options will be used to serve it.
