RAND

The 32-bit value entered in this field, Random Challenge Value, will be used by the mobile station during authentication procedures. RAND is sent to the mobile station on the Paging Channel Access Parameters Message.

GPIB Example

“CDMA:CELL:CONF:AUTH:RAND?”

queries the RAND field.

RAND_A

RAND_A is the 16 most significant bits of RAND and is entered as a 4-digit hexadecimal value. The mobile station stores and uses the most recent version of RAND_A in the authentication process. RAND_A is user definable.

The :RAND:A command is used to control this field.

The query form (that is, :RAND:A?) can be used to query the current field value.
