speed

Thiscommand,usedinconjunctionwiththeduplexcommand,forcestheFastEthernetinterface
tooperateataspecificspeedand/orduplexmode.Settingthespeedorduplextoautonegotiate
impliesthatboththespeedandtheduplexmodewillbenegotiated.Itisnotpossibletomanually
setoneandautonegotiatetheother.Forexample,youcannotsetthespeedto10Mb/sandsetthe
duplextoautonegotiate.
ForGigabitEthernetonly,toset1000Mbitsspeedforcopperorfiber,selectautowhichwill
autosensethecorrectlineandduplexspeeds.
Keepinmindthefollowingcaveats:
• Changingthespeedpreservesthecurrentduplexmode.
Note: Issuing this command causes the interface to drop its link while disabled.
