Chapter 1 Performance Tests

HP 53131A/132A/181A Operational Verification

1 MHz External Timebase Input (HP 53131A and HP 53181A Only)

1 Connect the equipment as shown in Figure 1-4.

2Cycle the POWER key to preset the Counter.

3Set Synthesizer #1 (i.e., the HP 3325B connected to the rear-panel Ref In input of the Counter via a 50Ω feedthrough) to output a

1 MHz, 200 mV rms sine wave signal.

4Set Synthesizer #2 (i.e., the HP 3325B connected to Channel 1) to output a 2 MHz, 100 mV rms square wave signal.

Verify the Counter displays a reading of approximately 2 MHz and the ExtRef annunciator is lit.

5For HP 53131A, mark Pass or Fail in the HP 53131A/132A Performance Test Record on page 1-41, Test 8a.
