Some versions of Windows 95 do not display the modem emulation selection dialog during the CAPI Port Driver installation:
The cause of the problem is an older version of the MFCxx.DLL files. To solve this problem, first remove the CAPI Port Drivers, then install the Year 2000 fix for Windows 95. This fix can be found on the Microsoft Windows 95 download page at http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/. On this page, scroll down to "Featured Updates" and then select Windows 95 Year 2000 Update. When you install this fix, the following dialog may appear:
In this case, click Cancel to skip the installation of the Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2, then click OK in the following dialog to complete the installation of the Year 2000 fix. The Internet Explorer Service Pack installation is not required. Finally, reinstall the CAPI Port Drivers for Windows 95.
