5.Select ISDN Internet (PPP over ISDN) and ISDN RAS (PPP over ISDN) and identify identical dial-up numbers for your ISP using the button Phone numbers.....

6.Close the window by clicking OK.

To establish a multi-link PPP connection in Windows 2000, proceed as follows:

1.Create a new connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Dial-Up Networking or select an already existing connection to your ISP.

2.Select the telephone book entry created in Dial-Up Networking and click the Properties button.

3.From the Basic page, enter ISDN Internet (PPP over ISDN) Modem and the virtual modem ISDN RAS (PPP over ISDN) under Dial using.

4.Above the button All devices call the same numbers..., define the same dial-in node for the ISP for both virtual modems.

5.Close the window by clicking OK.

Now the system automatically will attempt to connect to the destination ISDN number using both ISDN B channels whenever this dial-up connection is activated. Which kind of connection actually has been established (PPP or multi- link PPP) is displayed in the Dial-up icon. Activate the Dial-up icon in the Windows NT task bar. Then click the Details button. If the entry PPP multi-linkis displayed under Frames on the Network Registry page, you are connected to the Internet at the maximum transfer rate of 2*64kBit.

Using the Summary page in Dial-up networking, you connect and disconnect the second B channel manually as required. This technique allows you to increase the transmission capacity to download large files from the Internet and to reduce it again afterwards to avoid excessive charges (

Windows NT).

Users of Windows 2000 find these entries on the Details page instead.
