EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION

The DX4500/DX4600 emergency notification feature sends an emergency report to the designated computer on which the Emergency Agent application is running (for example, alarm or motion event is detected and the ADMINISTRATOR password is changed). This event must be specified using the notification option. For information about configuring the notification option, refer to Notification on page 62.

The emergency notification feature is configured and operates independently of the mail feature. The Emergency Agent application is installed on the remote client computer and is used to display and administer emergency reports. In this case, the DVR can be configured to send emergency reports but not mail. For information about setting up the mail feature, refer to Mail on page 63.

1.In the Setup window, on the front panel or remote control, press the up/down arrow buttons to select the Network menu option. Using the mouse, click the Network menu option. The Network page opens.

2.On the front panel or remote control, press ENTER, and then press the up/down arrow buttons to select Emergency. Using the mouse, click Emergency. The Emergency properties are displayed. By default, notification is set to OFF.
