1GENERAL

1.00This chapter provides the instructions nec- essary to mount the STRATA DK8 Key Service Unit. Instructions are also provided on how to remove and replace the power supply.

2 KEY SERVICE UNIT MOUNTING

2.00 Mounting Surface Considerations

2.01The Key Service Unit (KSU) is designed to be mounted on a wall or other vertical surface. It is recommended to use the method shown in Figure 4-1 (see Note). See Figure 4-2 for DK8 KSU physical dimensions.

secure the hard board to the wall, making certain that screws are aligned with studs.

2.10 Mounting Preparation

1)Loosen the screws on the front cover of the Key Service Unit, and remove the cover (Figure 4-2).

2)Move the SW1 RAM Storage Battery jumper plug strap on the motherboard to the ON position (Figure 4-5).

3)If the DK8 is less than one mile from the central office (or PBX), set the CO line PAD switches, SW101 and SW201, to the PAD position to provide a 3db level loss to avoid excessive loudness.

4)Install all optional PCBs per Paragraph 5.
